Majors Jeff & Shannon Howard

Jeff & Shannon have been married since 2002. They met at William & Catherine Booth College in Winnipeg, where they both received Bachelor’s degrees in Biblical & Theological Studies prior to entering The Salvation Army College for Officer Training in 2002. Shannon was born and grew up in Twillingate, NL, and Jeff grew up as an officers’ kid, living in various places from one end of the country to another.

Commissioned in 2004, they have served as Corps Officers in High River, Alberta; Whitehorse, Yukon; and Toronto, Ontario. They became the Corps Officers of Deer Lake Citadel in 2019 and have fallen in love with its people, community and culture.

They have two young children, Grayson & Maralyn, who keep them busy and on their toes!

Sandra Lush – YPSM (acting)

Sandra grew up as a member of the Deer Lake Corps, and now as an adult, fondly remembers the many memories of participating in youth activities in the church. This involvement, along with the positive influence of youth leaders had a tremendous impact on Sandra’s interest in serving the Lord and her willingness to serve others. Over the years she has held youth leadership roles at Winnipeg Citadel, Fort McMurray corps and Ottawa Citadel. Since June 2019, Sandra has been fulfilling the role of YPSM (acting). It is her passion to coordinate ministry for children, youth and young families that will enable them to want to be connected to our corps family and develop a personal relationship with Christ.

For the last 12 years, Sandra has worked at Western Health as the Regional Manager of Spiritual Health. She graduated from William and Catherine Booth College with a BA adv (Pastoral Ministries) in 1998. She also has a MA (Pastoral Studies) Healthcare and a Certificate in Executive Leadership. Sandra and her husband, Josh (whom she met at youth group) attend the corps with their children Aaron and Meredith.
